Smart IPTV (SIPTV): setup
Smart IPTV (often called SIPTV) is an app for Smart TVs, mainly Samsung and LG, that plays IPTV from an M3U list. You install the app, note your MAC address and upload your list via the Smart IPTV portal.
Which TVs are supported?
Primarily Samsung and LG TVs with the Smart IPTV app.
Do I need a box?
No, the app runs directly on your Smart TV.
How do I add my list?
Via an M3U link you upload on the Smart IPTV portal.
What is the MAC address for?
It links your list to your specific TV in the portal.

Search for and install the Smart IPTV app from your Samsung or LG TV's app store.
- 2

Smart IPTV on your TV — no box needed
Smart IPTV runs directly on Samsung and LG Smart TVs, so you can watch IPTV Nordic's 43,000+ channels in up to 4K without extra hardware. Want other no-box options? Read What is IPTV?.
How the Smart IPTV portal works
Smart IPTV (SIPTV) doesn't store your channels inside the TV app itself. Instead, the app shows a unique MAC address, and you link your M3U playlist to that MAC on the Smart IPTV portal from a phone or computer. Once saved, the TV app loads the list the next time you open it. This keeps setup simple and lets you update your list later without touching the TV.
Supported TVs and devices
Smart IPTV is built mainly for Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) Smart TVs, where it installs straight from the TV's app store. On other platforms — Android TV, Fire TV or phones — other players are usually a better fit. See the full list on supported devices.
Activation and the trial period
The Smart IPTV app may offer a short free trial and then a small one-time activation fee on the portal. That fee is for the app only — your IPTV subscription with IPTV Nordic is separate, from 79 EUR/year, with a 14-day right of withdrawal so you can try risk-free.
Troubleshooting Smart IPTV
- No channels after upload — confirm the MAC matches and restart the app so the list reloads.
- Wrong or old list — re-upload the correct M3U on the portal and remove the old one.
- Buffering — use 15–25 Mbps for 4K; a wired connection is steadier than wifi.
- App missing from the store — availability varies by TV model and region; another player may suit better.

Smart IPTV vs other Smart TV apps
On Samsung and LG, Set IPTV works in a very similar, portal-based way and is a common alternative. If you later switch to an Android TV box or Fire TV, players like TiviMate become available. The content stays the same — only the app changes.
Tips
Keep your M3U link private, and use a stable connection (15–25 Mbps for 4K). For other devices and apps, see supported devices. New to IPTV? Start with What is IPTV?.
